2.) AETTNL Council Nomination Letters
Nomination Letter for President:
To: AETTNL Council and General Membership of AETTNL
Please accept this notice as my intent to offer myself for the position of President of AETTNL for the 2018-2019 business year.
I wish to thank all members of AETTNL for your support this past year in serving as your President. As with every year, unique challenges present themselves and this is especially true of this past year with a change in office staff, movement towards a single national body and continuing efforts to obtain Right to Title Legislation from Government. Working with a very dedicated and highly motivated Executive, Council and Staff together we have continued to work diligently towards protecting and promoting the best interests of the more than 1200 Registered/Certified Technicians and Technologists, Associates and Student Members in Newfoundland and Labrador, at the provincial and national levels.
Council, AETTNL staff and many volunteers, serving on several committees, have devoted countless hours and effort this past year, working to advance and progress AETTNL to an association that best serves you, the Member. With your support, I wish to continue to work on your behalf.
I have been an active member of AETTNL since 1991, serving on several Councils, serving on PR and Stakeholders Committees serving as your Vice-President and currently serving as your President. With this experience, the knowledge of the issues and challenges facing AETTNL and the support of my colleagues on Council and Staff, my commitment will be to continue to work to the best of my abilities to serve and protect the best interests of AETTNL.
Respectfully requesting your support,
Stephen G. Badcock, A.Sc.T.

Nomination Letter for Eastern Area 1:
October 10, 2018
Letter to the AETTNL Nomination Committee
Re: AETTNL Election for the Position of Councillor for Eastern, NL
I would like to be considered during the upcoming election for the position of Councillor, Eastern Region, NL.
I have been a certified member of the Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Newfoundland and Labrador since 1986. Throughout the past twelve years I have played a more active role in the activities of the Association. During this time, I have served as a Board Member representing both the Eastern and Labrador Regions and is currently the representative for AETTNL on the CTAB Board of Directors, a position I have held for the past 5 years.
I believe that my experience and knowledge of AETTNL is an asset and by maintaining an active role as Councillor on the Board, I will be able to assist the President in future endeavors and objectives for our association as set out in its Constitution and By-Laws.
I appreciate your accepting this letter as my application for this position, and I look forward to hearing from the Committee in the near future.
Very sincerely,
Edward Mercer, CET, RHI
Nomination Letter for Eastern Area 2:
Dear Members,
I have supported our association since helping with student recruitment nearly a decade ago. Some of you may remember when I served as President for the College of the North Atlantic’s engineering technology campus on Ridge Road; it is that same energy and enthusiasm I intend to focus on the goals of our members. It is privilege to help, and I have been fortunate to be a part of successful fundraising campaigns that have together raised more than $161 thousand for several registered charities in our province.
We have discussed legislation to recognize our association–and our professional designations–for many years: I will work tirelessly to move that forward. Most importantly, I would like to meet you, learn what is important to you, and help our association support you. Successful groups are based on cooperation, respect, and ambition to achieve more together. With your support, I hope to be a part of that team. Thank you for considering me to serve on your council.
Robert Miller, PTech
